Soft, fluffy baked donuts dipped in a glossy dark chocolate glaze and finished with pastel sprinkles. All the joy of a classic donut — no deep fryer required. These disappear fast, so make a double batch.

Make the Donuts
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a donut pan well.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
Fold wet ingredients into dry until just combined — don't overmix.
Spoon or pipe batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about ¾ full.
Bake for 10–12 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean and the tops spring back. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Glaze & Decorate
Melt chocolate, cream, and butter together in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth and glossy.
Dip the top of each cooled donut into the glaze, letting the excess drip off.
Immediately scatter with sprinkles before the glaze sets.
Place back on the rack and let the glaze firm up for 10–15 minutes before serving.
Melissa's Notes
Make sure the donuts are fully cooled before glazing or the chocolate will slide right off. These are best the day they're made but keep well in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
