A simple, flavour-packed appetizer that's fresh, tangy, and a little indulgent. Creamy goat cheese on lightly toasted crostini gets topped with organic salsa and a hint of pesto, finished with balsamic glaze and fresh basil. Looks gourmet, comes together in minutes.

Serves
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly toast baguette slices for 5–7 minutes until slightly golden. Optional: rub each warm slice with a garlic clove for extra flavour.
Microwave the goat cheese for 15–20 seconds, or warm in a small oven-safe dish, until soft enough to spread easily.
Spread a generous layer of warmed goat cheese onto each toast or crostini.
Spoon salsa generously over each crostini, followed by a dollop of pesto.
Drizzle with balsamic glaze, top with fresh basil leaves, and finish with a sprinkle of freshly cracked black pepper.
Melissa's Notes
These are best served immediately while the goat cheese is creamy and warm. For extra colour, finely chop a few basil leaves and scatter on top in addition to whole leaves. Use mild or spicy salsa depending on your taste.
