This easy Parmesan garlic bread is buttery, garlicky and perfectly golden, with crisp edges and a warm, tender centre. Freshly grated Parmesan melts into the garlic butter as the bread toasts, adding just the right amount of salty, savoury flavour.

Slice the baguette diagonally into approximately ¾-inch-thick slices, cutting any especially large slices in half if desired.
Arrange the baguette slices cut-side up on a large baking sheet.
Spread a generous layer of softened butter over each slice.
Finely grate the fresh garlic and spread a little over the butter on each piece.
Sprinkle each slice lightly with garlic salt.
Top each piece with approximately 1 tablespoon finely grated Parmesan, followed by a light sprinkle of dried parsley.
Set the oven broiler to LOW. Place the bread under the broiler for approximately 4–7 minutes, watching it closely, until the butter has melted into the bread, the Parmesan is melted and the edges are lightly golden.
Serve immediately while warm.
Melissa's Notes
The secret to great garlic bread is keeping the broiler on low. Rather than quickly scorching the top, the lower heat gives the butter, fresh garlic and Parmesan time to melt into all the little pockets of the baguette while the edges gradually toast. The result is golden and lightly crisp on the outside with a warm, tender centre.
