This easy homemade vinaigrette is bright, garlicky and just slightly sweet. Made with apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey and basil, it comes together in just a few minutes and is perfect for everyday salads.

Serves
About ½ cup
Add the apple cider vinegar, garlic, Dijon mustard, honey, dried basil, salt and pepper to a small bowl or jar.
Slowly whisk in the olive oil until the dressing is well combined and slightly emulsified. Alternatively, add everything to a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake well.
Taste and adjust the salt and pepper if needed.
Use immediately or refrigerate in a sealed container until ready to use. Give it a good shake or whisk before serving, as the dressing will naturally separate as it sits.
Melissa's Notes
For the best flavour, let the vinaigrette sit for 10–15 minutes before serving to give the garlic and basil a chance to infuse the dressing.
If refrigerated, the olive oil may firm up slightly. Let the dressing sit at room temperature for a few minutes, then shake well before using.
