This warm and fragrant apple pie spice is filled with cinnamon, nutmeg and just a hint of cardamom. Use it in apple pies, crisps, muffins, pancakes, oatmeal and other cozy fall favourites.

Method
Add all the spices to a small bowl or jar.
Stir or shake until thoroughly combined.
Use immediately or store in an airtight container in a cool, dry cupboard for up to six months.
Shake or stir before each use.
How to Use It
Apple pie: 1½ to 2 teaspoons.
Apple crisp or crumble: 1 to 2 teaspoons.
Muffins, scones or loaves: 1 to 2 teaspoons.
Pancakes or waffles: 1 teaspoon.
Oatmeal: ¼ to ½ teaspoon per serving.
Baked apples: ¼ teaspoon per apple.
Melissa's Notes
This blend is cinnamon-forward, with cardamom adding a subtle brightness that complements apples beautifully.
Unlike the pumpkin pie spice, this blend contains no cloves and has a softer flavour.
If you don't have cardamom, leave it out or replace it with an additional ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon.
For a stronger ginger flavour, increase the ground ginger to 1 teaspoon.
Double or triple the ingredients to prepare a larger batch for fall baking.
